I Hereby Resolve
In a surprising change from years past, I have made a New Year's resolution. That's right, just one. And if there's just one it must be a doozy, right? Oh, you bet it is.
Are you ready?
Hang on to your hats...
Hold on to your seats...
Here it is...
I hereby resolve to be in bed with the lights out by 9:30 at least four nights each week.
Whew. Didn't think you could handle that much excitement, did ya?
I figure that with that one resolution I could actually accomplish a lot.

- It will definitely make me a better parent. Well, at least a more well-rested, patient, and tolerant one.
- I'll be healthier. Maybe I'll even get rid of this pesky middle ear issue that's been bothering me for almost four weeks.
- I'll lose weight. See, in order to actually be tired enough to go to sleep at 9:30, I have to cut out Jay's evening dessert-making experiments. That's four nights per week without dessert. My taste buds will suffer but my waistline will thank me.

Sleep is wonderful!
That sounds like such a good idea. I'd maybe aim for 10 pm rather than 9.30 pm, and I think 4 nights a week would be a bit beyond me, but it would be nice not to be tired all the time!
Kat E--Sleep now, while you still can!
Sarah--"Doozy" is value-free. It means something extraordinary. Of course, I meant this in utter sarcasm.
I'm not even home from work that early sometimes. Besides, the Daily Show doesn't come on until midnight here in Colorado.
When do you get up in the morning? 5 am? And, yes, I say that like it's a BAD thing.
Cheers to New Years Resolutions! Time for a nap.
I'm guaranteed to be awake in the middle of the night for at least an hour AND I can't have any caffeine to keep the motor running during the day. The only way to get enough rest is to go to bed ridiculously early.
Jay and I called it "sleeping out" as opposed to "sleeping in."
